A wolf lived in a cave. He had a lot of food in his cave, so he did not go out to hunt. He stayed inside and ate and ate.
His friend the fox did not see the wolf for many days. She looked everywhere. At last she found the cave. She pretended to be worried. “Are you OK, my friend?” she called. But really, she wanted some of the food.
The wolf did not want to share. “I am too sick to see you,” he said in a cross voice.
The fox was very angry. She ran to a shepherd. “Bring a big stick,” she said. “I can show you where the wolf lives.”
The shepherd went to the cave and chased the wolf far, far away. Then the fox went into the cave and took all the wolf’s food.
But a few days later, the shepherd passed by the cave again. He saw the fox and chased her away too. Now the fox had nothing.
If you trick a friend, you may get into trouble yourself.
